Adsense alternative

Posted by Prathik R M on October 14th, 2007

Adsense is a very good web monetization program but not all are satisfied with it, may be because of low payment for the main keywords of their website, may be because of some other reason. Adsense is not the only web monetization program, there are more than 100’s, but that does not mean you go and take anything you want. Below is the list of some of the respectable networks that you can take up.

  1. Tribalfusion - One of the most respected network, with very high payout. This handles ad publishing for very big websites. But getting into it is very hard, it pays better than adsense, but the terms to get into it is very strict and you will have to have a lot of visitors in your website.
  2. Adbrite - This is exactly like adsense. If you are good at adsense, then you will be good at this. Adsense has content restrictions, but not Adbrite.

At present these two are the ones you should be looking at for Adsense alternatives.

Use a headphone as a microphone

Posted by Prathik R M on October 13th, 2007

Coby CV-230, can be used as a microphone and a headphoneThis is not a big hack, it is simple and not dangerous. Ever seen the construct of a Microphone and a headphone? The are exactly the same, only difference is that the receivers of microphones are stronger. But this does not mean that we can use a microphone as a head phone. Use a Coby CV-230 for this purpose, this works best. Insert the jack of the head phone into the slot of the microphone, this should do the trick, but you have to speak loudly into it.

The hack that is being worked on is introduction of an external magnetic field and making the diaphragm it more sensitive towards air pressure variation, so that it becomes more clear and record better than normal microphones. Until then you can buy a normal low cost headphone and use it as a multipurpose device (experimental purpose).

Note: It works best with Coby CV-230, but it is not necessary to have this, this technique works on other headphones too.

Lot of spam blogs on Blogspot

Posted by Prathik R M on October 13th, 2007

Google blogspot is very good in terms of its service, but it has lot of spam. People make a blog, put lot of adsense in it and just put one post. They ask people to visit these spam blogs and get money. Blogspot should do something about this, may be delete all the inactive blogs.

Spam is not bad according to some law in the US and it does not affect people much, but some people do get irritated and this spam culture makes the people to do more and more spam, first blogspot spamming, then email spamming and after that may be introduction to spywares and adwares. The best bet would be to remove spam culture by making it inaccessible to the newbies and thus they won’t develop the spam culture.

May be blogspot will do something about it, as I said earlier, some detection system for spam blogs. Even anti-comment spamming mechanism should be introduced on blogspot. Temporary ban of spammers will also control it and people will have a better internet experience.
