N70 music, perfect music phone

Posted by Prathik R M on March 24th, 2008

Phones with music playback have replaced mp3 players. N70 is the music phone by nokia. N70 is priced well and can be bought at a nominal price. As they say music is the soul of life, n70 provides good sound quality. I bought the new N70 black and it has never restarted.

Rock music is what I love and you can head bang perfectly with the quality of music that comes out of the n70 head phones. So the main feature of it is good sound quality at a reasonable price.

Second important feature of nokia n70 is the 1 gb memory card that comes with it, mine got screwed because of improper use, but the phone was fast enough when I was using it.
N70 restarted like 2 times when I used it for 6 months, thats good performance. Also, it never restarted while playing music. It only happened when I was playing micropool.

Don’t give up on your old phone just to by the nokia n70 but if you are planning for a new music phone then go for it. But if you have extra cash then go for nokia n95 over a n70.

A4 size paper to store 450 GB

Posted by Prathik R M on October 14th, 2007

A new technology which could determine the new mode of data storage, storing data on a sheet of paper. Storing hand-written data in A4 size paper is no big deal, but storing 450 GB of Computer Data (Anything) is really cool and cheap. [sainul abideen] a student from India recently developed a new technology called as the “Rainbow Technology” which can store hell lot of data in a very low-cost format.

The information available is limited for now and there seems to be no patent on this technology. Reading of this data will be done with a scanner and data will be interpreted using a software.

The image shows how the paper will look after the data is stored and the data will be stored on the paper by using special symbols.

This has be taken from Arabnews.com the authority of this article has not been verified. Some do believe this is a scam.

3.5 inch disk to store 100 Terabyte

Posted by Prathik R M on October 13th, 2007

Michael E. Thomas has successfully patented his new idea of a storage system that can store up to 100 Terabyte of data in a small 3.5 inch disk. According to his patent application this device is based on nano-technological methods of data storage. The diagram below shows a small preview of how the device may look.

Disk to store 100 terabyte

This technology will be less expensive than similar blue-ray disks and will be one of the smallest devices to store that much data. 100 terabyte removable 3 D Colossal HoloDisk/Drive will eventually cost $ 750.

Use a headphone as a microphone

Posted by Prathik R M on October 13th, 2007

Coby CV-230, can be used as a microphone and a headphoneThis is not a big hack, it is simple and not dangerous. Ever seen the construct of a Microphone and a headphone? The are exactly the same, only difference is that the receivers of microphones are stronger. But this does not mean that we can use a microphone as a head phone. Use a Coby CV-230 for this purpose, this works best. Insert the jack of the head phone into the slot of the microphone, this should do the trick, but you have to speak loudly into it.

The hack that is being worked on is introduction of an external magnetic field and making the diaphragm it more sensitive towards air pressure variation, so that it becomes more clear and record better than normal microphones. Until then you can buy a normal low cost headphone and use it as a multipurpose device (experimental purpose).

Note: It works best with Coby CV-230, but it is not necessary to have this, this technique works on other headphones too.

Advantages of Optical fibre cable

Posted by lakshmi on October 11th, 2007

Optical fibre is used world wide due to its enormous band width and compact size. Loss in the fibre unlike copper conductor is minimal. There are different types and sizes of optical fibre cable viz aerial, duct, underground and submarine.

Why optical fibre?

As mentioned above, Optical fibre has so much of available band width that it is not possible to use the fibre to its full potential. Due to its compactness and isolation from voltage related problems and non - interference from power lines and lightning, it is considered the best among telecom cables.
