Link Exchange for Wordpress blogs

Posted by Prathik R M on November 3rd, 2007

Making a blog is easy but getting good visitors and a high Google page rank is also important, having this thought in mind I made a new Wordpress plugin (widget) called as LE Promote. You may be wondering how this is different from other methods of link exchange, well to start with, you don’t have to do anything in order to enable the link exchange, you don’t have to communicate with other web owners to hit a good link exchange deal. The other special thing about this is that it is compatible with any template in Wordpress.

Path to blogging success

Posted by Prathik R M on October 22nd, 2007

When I was in the 9th grade there was a poem in which the poet tells about a fork where he comes, one followed by many people, the other was luscious and green but no one took the path. The author took the luscious and green but later found out that many people didn’t take it is because it was really bad, it looked good only in the start. I apply the same principle here to, take the path which is chosen by many to make money online and that is blogging. Though Stepsandtips.com is non-profit, it’s sister site Tech36.com is doing good.

Do the following things to ensure people come to your blog (website), run programs in which you get to communicate with the users. I recently ran a hosting competition and it got good response, the strategy is interaction. Step two for good blogging success is quality content, in most of the blogs it’s the same content put in different ways. Sign up to receive press releases and then write about new launches, that’s what I do in Tech36.com/blog. Finally join social bookmarking services like Digg and Delicious, you’ll get immediate visitors from them, if you want help in integrating digg to your website, drop a message.

Adsense video units not in India?

Posted by Prathik R M on October 14th, 2007

Google Adsense in US websitesThere was a lot of hype about adsense video unit and many publishers in India were very excited about this as the number of click through rate and effective cost-per-thousand impressions (eCPM) would also increase, but this did not happen. Indian adsense publishers are yet to get it, but the question is why is it late? Why is there no video units for Indian publishers?

Guys at Google are good, may be it is under beta testing and they are testing it on US publishers or maybe because Adsense is very popular among US publishers. India is known for a lot of click fraud and click exchange groups, maybe they are making a very powerful fraud detection system before it is made available in India.

Adsense alternative

Posted by Prathik R M on October 14th, 2007

Adsense is a very good web monetization program but not all are satisfied with it, may be because of low payment for the main keywords of their website, may be because of some other reason. Adsense is not the only web monetization program, there are more than 100’s, but that does not mean you go and take anything you want. Below is the list of some of the respectable networks that you can take up.

  1. Tribalfusion - One of the most respected network, with very high payout. This handles ad publishing for very big websites. But getting into it is very hard, it pays better than adsense, but the terms to get into it is very strict and you will have to have a lot of visitors in your website.
  2. Adbrite - This is exactly like adsense. If you are good at adsense, then you will be good at this. Adsense has content restrictions, but not Adbrite.

At present these two are the ones you should be looking at for Adsense alternatives.

How to make money with google adsense?

Posted by Prathik R M on October 13th, 2007

Google AdsenseThis is the main question that comes up in the mind of many people after they learn about google adsense, some people even think they’ll get cash if they keep clicking their own ads. This is wrong, Google Adsense mainly aims of fair policies, benefit for the advertiser and publisher. If you don’t have a website with more than 500 visitors a month, then don’t bother to sign up adsense.

Asking your friends to click won’t help either, Google tracks these stuff and you get banned. But wait, this post does not complain about bad habits of an Adsense user, this also covers all the money making steps.

Steps to follow in order to get good earning

Promote your website extensively, do a press release, post very good content, which is original. Get your Google PR up and take other steps so that you get a lot of visitors to your website.

Place the ads in such a way that they are merged with the content. A full write up on this has been give here adsense tips for better earning

Do not spam, don’t get in the black list of Google, you can get banned. Don’t put stuff like click here in order to get click because you will be banned.

Concentrate on a specific keyword. Make each page, specific for a keyword. People say that the keyword ‘insurance’ gets a lot of money.

If you find a high paying keyword or a good tip, do comment.
